Why We Chose SunTek: Film We'll Stand Behind for Life

Stone entry with a wooden front door, tall glass walls on each side reflecting the desert

Tucson Home Window Tint does homes and businesses only, and we've tinted thousands of Tucson homes since 2020. We wanted one film line we'd be proud to stand behind for life. SunTek is it. Here's what that choice means for you.

  • It's built for this sun. Our solar films block up to 99% of UV, the main cause of fading. Our clear films stop up to 80% of the sun's infrared heat, the heat you feel on your skin by the window. Our darkest and most reflective films reject up to 83% of the sun's total heat.
  • You get real numbers, not adjectives. SunTek publishes the light, heat, UV and glare numbers for every film, all measured the same way. We bring those numbers to your kitchen table. You compare films side by side and know what you're paying for.
  • There's a strong film for every look. Clear, neutral, bronze, reflective, one-way mirror. Whatever look you want for your house, there's a SunTek film that matches it. That's how we keep one clean, even look on every window.
  • It's film we stand behind ourselves. We put our own lifetime warranty on materials and labor on home installs. We wouldn't do that on film we didn't trust.

The SunTek Films We Install: A Film for Every Look

All numbers come from SunTek's published specifications, with the shade named.

  • Clear and light: Ultra-VisionDS

Barely visible on the glass. It stops the infrared heat you feel and the UV that fades floors, and lets the daylight through. Ultra-VisionDS 40 blocks 80% of the sun's infrared heat and over 98% of UV. Ultra-VisionDS 70 lets in 69% of visible light and still blocks 63% of infrared. This is the film for homeowners who want the windows to look untouched. Clear window film

  • Neutral and bronze: InfinityDS

A warm bronze or neutral tone that looks right at home on stucco and bronze-framed houses. InfinityDS 35 Bronze rejects 60% of the sun's total heat and blocks over 99% of UV. InfinityDS 20 Bronze rejects 75%.

  • Reflective outside, softer inside: Dual-ReflectiveDS and SymphonyDS

Reflective from the street, calmer from inside. The room doesn't feel like it sits behind a mirror. You get daytime privacy and a big step up in heat and glare control. SymphonyDS 15 rejects 82% of the sun's total heat and cuts 89% of glare. Dual-ReflectiveDS 15 rejects 71% and cuts 84% of glare. Dual reflective film

  • Mirrored: SilverDS

A bright mirror look, inside and out. SilverDS 20 rejects 81% of the sun's total heat and blocks over 99% of UV.

  • One-way mirror: DR Mirror

The most daytime privacy we offer. On a sunny day, people outside see a mirror while you see out. DR Mirror 7 rejects 83% of the sun's total heat, cuts 92% of glare and blocks over 99% of UV. Some of our customers put it on the whole house. One-way mirror film

  • Low-reflective: Low-ReflectiveDS

A dark, neutral film without the mirror look. Low-ReflectiveDS 10 rejects 69% of the sun's total heat and cuts 92% of glare. It isn't recommended on dual-pane glass, so we check your windows before we suggest it.

  • Frost, White Out and Black Out

White Matte gives glass a soft, even frost. Crystal looks like etched glass. White Out turns glass a solid, bright white. Black Out blocks all visible light, rejects 70% of the sun's total heat and blocks over 99% of UV. Decorative film Blackout and whiteout film

  • Safety, security and anti-graffiti

SunTek's Clear Series safety films run from 2 to 13 mil and let 88% to 89% of visible light through, so the glass looks much like it does now. They help hold broken glass in place, so a break-in takes more time and more noise. Anti-graffiti film is a clear, sacrificial layer that takes the scratches and tags so your glass doesn't have to. Security window film Anti-graffiti film

  • Exterior films

Our films go on the inside of the glass, where they last longest in the Arizona sun. When a window truly needs film on the outside, SunTek makes exterior versions, and we decide that case by case at the estimate. ULV EXT 50 lets in 52% of visible light, blocks 74% of infrared and over 99% of UV.

Not sure which one is yours? We'll bring them all. You'll pick in your own light.

Light or Dark: One Look, One Film

Light and dark are both good choices. You don't need dark film to get real protection, and you don't give up anything by choosing the look you like.

Light: Ultra-VisionDS keeps your daylight and your view and is strong where it counts: infrared heat, UV and glare.

Dark: Dual-reflective, mirrored and one-way films give the most daytime privacy, the most glare control and our strongest heat rejection, up to 83% of the sun's total heat.

Pick the look you like, and we match one film to it for the whole house, so every window looks clean and even from the street. Here's what we'd do. For a west-facing great room where privacy and heat matter most, we'd go darker. If the view of the Catalinas is the reason you bought the house, we'd go light. Either way, you see it on your own glass before you decide.

We Check Your Glass First

Most Tucson homes have dual-pane windows, and many have a Low-E coating. SunTek film goes on most of them. The right film just depends on the glass. SunTek publishes a film-to-glass guide, and we use it on every window at the estimate.

We only use films that are a safe match for your glass. Thinking about Black Out on dual-pane windows? We'll evaluate your windows and tell you the safest option.
