Blackout and Whiteout Window Film in Tucson

Need a media room that's dark at 2 PM, or a bedroom you can sleep in at noon? Black Out window film is the fix we'd recommend. It lets no visible light through the glass. The movie looks like a movie, and the bedroom stays dark through the brightest Tucson afternoon.

Want to hide a window and keep a bright look? Think a garage, a storage room or a bathroom window that faces the neighbors. We'd go with White Out, a solid, bright white film. Either way, you get a clean, finished fix on the glass itself, not foil, paint or cardboard taped to the window.

A Dark Room at Noon, or a Window Nobody Sees Through

These films don't tint a window. They close it off, on exactly the glass where light or a view is the problem.

Black Out: full darkness. Black Out lets 0% of visible light through the glass and cuts glare by more than 99%. The glass goes black from both sides. It also blocks more than 99% of UV and rejects 70% of the sun's total heat. A west-facing bedroom stays dark and cooler too.

White Out: full privacy, bright finish. White Out is an opaque, bright white film. Nobody sees through it. The window reads as a clean white panel instead of a dark one.

The foil comes down. Plenty of Tucson day sleepers have taped something over a bedroom window at one point. Film goes on the glass itself, looks finished from the street and leaves the window working the way it did.

No more light leaking around the drapes. Blackout curtains leak light at the edges and get hot against west-facing glass. Film stops the light at the glass before it ever reaches the room.

The rest of the house keeps its look. Black Out and White Out solve a specific problem on specific glass. Your other windows keep the one look you chose for the house.

Black Out or White Out: Here's How to Pick

Choose Black Out when you want darkness. Media rooms, home theaters, bedrooms for people who sleep during the day, and any window where light itself is the problem.

Choose White Out when you want privacy and a bright look. Bathrooms, garage windows, storage rooms and street-facing glass where you want the window hidden but don't want a black square on the house.

We install SunTek window film, and these are its two total-light-control films. Light and heat numbers below are from the published specifications.

We Check the Glass Before Anything Goes On

Black Out absorbs a lot of the sun's energy, so the glass it goes on matters.

Most Tucson homes have dual-pane windows, and Black Out may be a fine fit for yours. We just need to see them. We'll evaluate your windows at the estimate and tell you the safest option for a dark room. White Out is rated for a much wider range of glass, including clear and Low-E dual-pane.

We only use films that are a safe match for your glass. Window film on dual-pane and Low-E windows

Blackout Film for Storefronts and Back Rooms: Hide What Customers Shouldn't See

Businesses use Black Out and White Out to hide what customers shouldn't see: stockrooms behind display windows, back offices, loading areas and vacant units waiting for a tenant.

One recent job was a long run of storefront glass on a retail building. The photos below were taken at night, before and after. Before, every light inside showed through to the parking lot. After, the same run of glass reads as a clean, solid band.
